About the Author
The author has been a professional pitching instructor, coaching high school, college and professional pitchers for the last 10 years. He is also the owner of the Guerilla Baseball Academy in Mandeville, La. His success in training pitchers to reach their velocity goals came first with himself, when he overcame a major rotator cuff tear to play pro ball and top out at 94mph, after Doctors told him he would never pitch again.
Overview
Brent developed his pitching velocity program back in college after undergoing rotator cuff surgery. While coming back from the injury, he refused to accept the diagnosis from doctors and their negative prognosis to "find another sport". This marked the beginning of Brent’s continuous devotion to the athletics of pitching. He worked with personal trainers and massage therapists that eventually led him to develop his a pitching training program that not only allowed him to play pitch again, but to pitch a baseball with velocity.
His 3X Pitching program is a revolutionary approach to pitching. This phrase comes from the Olympic Lifting world and it is the most effective way an athlete can build pure explosive strength. It is a complete scientific system to the mechanics of pitching velocity.
The program includes the most effective way to generate core torque, how to amp a pitchers power output, how a pitcher can use leverage to locate his pitches and timing to maximize the velocity of his pitch.
The author uses MLB pitcher as examples to prove that training is required to maximize pitching velocity. The pitching mechanics of 3X pitching trains an pitcher to become more efficient. This efficiency not only increases velocity but it prevents injury. Another important aspect to maximize pitch speed is to learn the proper mindset.
The 3X Velocity System is a 16 week program of velocity drills. These drills include the well know 3X medicine ball throws and 3X target throws, along with some more advanced drills. It also provides the know-how to organize your in-season pitching workload to improve performance and prevent overuse and injury.
